We are pleased to announce the launch of the mentorship phase of the the first edition of Playground for Emerging Playwrights, a programme dedicated to supporting Albanian-language playwrights from Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Albania.
Following a highly competitive open call and selection process earlier this year, Fatbardha Zyberi and Ardit Dragusha have been selected to develop their original dramatic texts through the programme.
Over the coming months, they will engage in a structured dramaturgical development process designed to nurture new voices and foster contemporary dramatic writing in the region.
Doruntina Basha, an acclaimed playwright and screenwriter from Pristina, leads this year’s mentorship process. Through individual mentorship, tailored workshops, and collaborative exchange, the participants will refine their texts from initial concepts to advanced drafts, while exploring dramaturgical, thematic, and artistic questions.
We are excited to follow their creative journey throughout the summer and look forward to sharing the outcomes of this process with audiences and theatre professionals across the region.
Playground for Emerging Playwrights is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
