Ivan Vejvoda

President of the Board

A politicologist and translator, a member of the Institute of Social Sciences in Vienna. From 1998 to 2002 he worked as an Executive Director of the Belgrade Open Society Fund, and after a successful government service, in the position of senior foreign policy advisor and European integration of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, in 2003 he became the Executive Director of the GMF Fund Balkan Trust for Democracy, dedicated to strengthening democratic institutions in Southeast Europe. As one of the key figures of the democratic opposition movement in Yugoslavia during the 1990s, he dealt with topics of democratic transition, totalitarianism and post-war reconstruction in the Balkans. Since 2005 he has been a member of the Advisory Board of the ERSTE Foundation. In addition, he is a member of the Serbian PEN Club, and was awarded the French National Order of Merit in the rank of Officer and in the Order of the Italian Star of Solidarity, the second rank (Commendatore). In the mid-1990s, he worked at universities in the United States and the United Kingdom, after he graduated from the Institute of Political Science in Paris and completed his postgraduate studies in philosophy at the University of Belgrade.

Jelena Milašinović

PR for the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra where in addition to public relations she deals with crisis communication, corporate communication, writing and editing of the official blog of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra called “Metronome”. Before that, she worked as a project manager at Art Link and as a piano professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade. In the period of 2004-2005, she attended the London Public Relations School, where she worked on developing professional expertise in the field of PR relations. She graduated from the Music Academy in Belgrade (the piano section), and completed her master studies in 2009 at the Academy of Arts in Belgrade, where she defended her master thesis titled “Art and Business – Advantages and Possibilities of Intersectoral Cooperation”.

Goran Miletić

A fighter for human rights and the program director of the Civil Rights Defenders for Europe. He worked in the Humanitarian Law Center, and as a prominent expert and activist, he deals with advocacy, lobbying and monitoring of human and minority rights. He has conducted numerous trainings in this field. He is a member of the European Commission for the Rights of Sexual Orientation as well as a member of the Organising Committee of the Belgrade Pride Week. Since 2011, he has served as the program director of Civil Rights Defenders for Europe. Goran Miletic holds a Master’s degree in the field of Democracy and Human Rights.

Sandra Orlović

The Head of Reparations and Transitional Justice Program at the IOM Iraq (The International Organization for Migration). For more than a decade Sandra Orlovic worked for the Humanitarian Law Centre (HLC) in Belgrade (Serbia), an organization committed to documenting mass atrocities during Yugoslav wars and advocating for victims’ rights. After she led an initiative for redressing war victims belonging to Muslim minority in Sandzak (Serbia), the first official program of collective reparations in former Yugoslavia was passed. In 2009, her work was recognized by the German Schwarzkopf Foundation through the award ‘Young European of the Year’. She graduated in 2004 from the Faculty of Law in Belgrade and holds an LLM Degree in International Human Rights at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in Chicago.

Alban Ukaj

An actor and director, and a permanent member of the SARTR theater ensemble. His first movie role was in Fuse by Pjer Žalica, after which he had numerous roles, awards and nominations. The movie Full Moon was nominated for the European Discovery at the European Film Awards, and for his role, Ukaj won the award for best actor at the Cottbusy Festival in Germany. The movie Quo vadis, Aida? in which Alban plays a supporting role received an Oscar nomination, and thanks to his cooperation with the Dardenne brothers, he can say that he is a double Cannes winner with the movies Tori and Lokita and Lorna’s silence. He directed the movies Horse and The Pit. He lives and works in Sarajevo, the city he graduated in 2006 from the Academy of Scenic Arts.
