PROGRAMME CONTEXT
This open call for Serbian theatre makers is part of the Residency Programme for Emerging Playwrights from Central and Eastern Europe. The wider programme offers a unique opportunity to develop new dramatic works. This year, the programme will also support three authors from the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania).
During the residency, Serbian directors and dramaturgs will be in intensive contact with the participating playwrights and Czech mentors. The aim is to develop the texts in practice and create short presentations of fresh, newly written texts. An added benefit is that the festival’s 2027 country of focus will be Serbia, creating a key opportunity for selected participants to pursue long-term collaboration with the festival.
