Heartefact House presented “They are All Gone” in Norway for the first time as part of the two-day international Ibsen Scope festival in Skien, Henrik Ibsen’s hometown. On May 7, audiences followed Sadika’s story in two performances, a tale of memory, forgetting, loss, and hope.
Heartefact House developed this stage project through a years-long artistic and research process, and in 2022, the project’s concept received the prestigious Ibsen Scope Award among 54 projects from 30 countries. Director Andrej Nosov ranked among five artists who earned the opportunity to develop further and produce projects focused on contemporary social and political realities.
“They are All Gone” explores the fates and consequences of the wars in the former Yugoslavia through personal and collective perspectives, creating space for remembrance and confrontation.
The production relies heavily on sound and audio storytelling. During the performance, audiences wear headphones through which they experience most of the soundscape and narrative, creating an intimate and immersive viewing experience.
The cast includes Mirjana Karanović, Svetozar Cvetković, and Alban Ukaj, alongside an ensemble of Sarajevo-based actors: Maja Salkić, Davor Sabo, Kemal Rizvanović, Matea Mavrak, Hana Zrno, Sanin Milavić, Faruk Hajdarević, Alen Konjicija, Natalia Dmitrieva, and Dino Hamidović.
Before arriving in Norway, the production premiered in Belgrade, Sarajevo, and New York City. Today, it remains part of the regular repertoire of Hartefakt House and Sarajevski ratni teatar SARTR.
The next Belgrade performances will take place on June 6, 7, and 8. Audiences can buy tickets through tickets.rs and at ticket sales points. English Subtitles are available with prior announcement to Heartefact, up to two days in advance.
The production brings together Hartefakt House (Serbia), Sarajevski ratni teatar SARTR (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and My Balkans (USA/Serbia) in co-production, in collaboration with La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club (USA), Ibsen Scope (Norway), and Allianz Foundation (Germany).
