Within the framework of the Culture for Democracy project, the Heartefact Foundation has supported three new organizations through the Art Boost Support grant line, with a total amount of 68.000 CHF.
The Art Boost Support Scheme represents assistance to initiatives and processes in the artistic and cultural sector ranging from experimental to strategic, from urgent to long-term. It is not necessarily focused solely on specific artistic projects but encourages innovation and imagination. The Culture for Democracy project remains committed to cultural and artistic projects that foster critical thinking about past and present social and political circumstances. Within the Art Boost Support Scheme, the geographical focus has been expanded to include not only national but also regional, cross-border initiatives that align with the goals and priorities of the Culture for Democracy project.
In February, organizations from Belgrade and Novi Sad received support through this grant line for projects focusing on the social inclusion of Roma through art, primarily music, as well as a project dedicated to creating a regional platform to support young visual artists.
The list of organizations and projects that received support through the Art Boost Support grant scheme include
- Art Aparat (Project: All Together!): 25.000 CHF
- EXP Project (Project: Echo Curve): 23.000 CHF
- Roma Cultural Centre (Project: Romodrom): 20.000 CHF
The Culture for Democracy project aims to contribute to strengthening the independent cultural sector to foster greater social cohesion and tolerance at the local level. The first phase of the project runs from October 2021 to February 2025 and is supported by the Swiss Government with a grant of 1,945,000 euros, implemented by the Heartefact Foundation.
