At the beginning of November, playwright Sofija Dimitrijević participated in the first of 12 residencies within the Playground project, which Heartefact implements with partners from Italy, France and Romania. The innovativeness of the project lies in the fact that it was designed with the idea of establishing a more complex and comprehensive cooperation between the various professions involved in the theater process – playwrights, directors, translators and performers.
Four young authors from Serbia – Jana Milivojević, Nađa Mišković, Sofija Dimitrijević/Tara Mitrović – have the opportunity during a one-week residency in a partner country to practically research their first versions of texts through work with directors, actors and translators. After that, based on feedback and suggestions, they further develop and improve their texts until the final stage when their texts are translated into one of the partner languages, which enables them to be more visible in the international theater community. The same opportunity will be given to three authors each from Romania, Italy and France who will stay in Serbia and work with our artistic teams.
Sofija Dimitrijević and Tara Mitrović are developing an author’s project based on the script of the movie “Good luck to you, Leo Grande”, and Sofia researched parts of the new text that is being created in Rome at the beginning of November, at Teatro India with the artistic team from lacasadargilla and translator Valentina Rapetti. The inspiration for the new text that Sofia and Tara are developing is the story of sixty-year-old Susan Robinson who decides that for the first time in her life she wants to experience an orgasm, as well as various studies and materials about the taboo of mature women and female orgasm.
By the end of the Playground project, a total of 12 residencies will be held in 4 partner countries – Serbia, Italy, France and Romania – during which 12 new original plays will be developed.
