At the end of March, in the Polish city of Gliwice, a poetry performance “Poets of Today, Voices of Tomorrow” was held as part of the project of the same name in which Heartefact participates with partners from Slovenia, Finland, Hungary, and Poland.
In the form of a multimedia event, our Radmila Petrović performed a selection of her poems alongside colleagues from partner countries: Malgorzata Lebda from Poland, Anja Zag Golob from Slovenia, Hari Hertel from Finland, and Marton Simon from Hungary. In March of last year, a similar event was organized in the Cultural Center of Belgrade, and in June in the Botanical Garden at the opening of the 31st Belgrade Summer Festival (Belef). All these performances represent a series of research into ways to bring contemporary poetry closer to the audience in a different way, with a special emphasis on young people.
The performance in Poland was preceded by a meeting of artistic teams in this project, during which the poetic caravans in primary and secondary schools that we conducted at the end of last year were summarized. Our artistic team includes: actress Vanja Ejdus, director Andrej Nosov, and composer Draško Adžić. In the continuation of the project, we will work with partners to create a publication with guidelines and conclusions on how to bring contemporary poetry closer to young people.
The project “Poets of Today – Voices of Tomorrow” is supported by the European Union through the Creative Europe program.
