On Sunday, June 4th, a meeting of the poetry and teaching teams was held at the Heartefact House as part of the project “Poets of Today, Voices of Tomorrow.” These two teams met for the first time, initiating an exciting collaboration that is expected to result in well-conceived and prepared poetry events in 10 high schools in Serbia later this year.
After the introductory words by project manager Aleksandra Lozanović, the two teams got to know each other in the popular format of “speed dating,” and then discussed poetry, as well as the poets whose works they particularly admire and whose poems inspire them. Members of the poetry team presented their work by reciting one or more of their own poems. The following poets presented their poems: Marija Dragnić, Maša Seničić, Jelena Marinkov, Stefan Mitić Tićmi, Milica Milosavljević, Anđela Đokić, Aleksa Krstić, Danilo Brakočević, and Valentina Bakti.
The first meeting concluded with new ideas for poetry visits to schools, as well as the most important topic for consideration: how to better and more interestingly introduce poetry to the new generations.
The project is supported by the European Union through the Creative Europe program.
