The Culture for Democracy Project is pleased to announce the recipients of funding in the fourth call for grants for Artistic Expressions.
Grants for cultural and artistic endeavors have been allocated to projects and activities that contribute to the advancement of society, local communities, and the enrichment of various cultural and artistic practices within the independent arts and culture sector. In response to this call, the Culture for Democracy Project received a total of 75 project proposals, of which 19 were approved for funding. The total proposed funding amount is 24,086,000 dinars, with individual project support ranging from 1,800,000 to 800,000 dinars. The selected organizations hail from 13 different cities across Serbia, and the planned activities will be spread across an additional 11 cities, municipalities, and villages, showcasing a remarkable geographical diversity. Furthermore, this diversity extends to artistic disciplines, encompassing theater and performing arts including contemporary dance, visual arts, theory of arts, music and literary. The projects tackle subjects like human rights, the rights of vulnerable and marginalized communities, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, ecology, and strengthening of critical thinking.
The organizations that have been granted support in response to the call for cultural and artistic projects are:

The Culture for Democracy Project aims at supporting the independent cultural sector to contribute to improved social cohesion and tolerance at the local level. Supported by the Government of Switzerland, the first project phase lasts from October 2021 until February 2025, and is implemented by Heartefact Fond.
