It is with great pleasure that we invite you to register for the theater workshop that will be led
by Julie Crantelle and Theo Majcher on Tuesday, September 13. This workshop will be
focused on keeping up with the work on the body done in Lèche Mon Coeur – how to use the
body on stage, how to work the body as a material full of senses but also full of sounds.
Setting up principles to avoid, to bypass the notion of interpretation. Working the body and
the voice as the extension of the gesture. Using the text – theatrical or not – as a sheet music
for the body and the stage. Inventing ways to turn away from psychology and finding new
ways to make sense. Giving body to the language, taking its materiality into account,
considering its physicality, constraining it, exhausting it, making it bounce back, carrying it,
and thus turning away from dramatization issues. The workshop is intended for theaterp
professionals and amateurs who are interested in body and the usage of the body on stage.
ALTER EGO (X) is a European theatre company, created in Paris in 2019 by Julie Crantelle
and Theo Majcher. In an ever-evolving Europe, we believe that arts and culture have an
important part to play. Indeed, they are the essence of connections between nations, of
dialogue and of knowledge sharing. A way to spark collective awareness. Arts need diversity
and today it seems essential to create with different nationalities and beyond borders. Lèche
Mon Coeur is a theatrical adaptation of Ogres by Yann Verburgh. At the heart of the creation,
this text deals with the theme of homophobia in the world. It carries the voices of the
oppressed, beyond their sexuality, their origins, their biography. This guest performance is
supported by the French Institute in Serbia and it will be performed at the National Theater in
Belgrade on September 12th at 8pm.
Time: Tuesday, September 13th, from 12 to 3pm,
Location: Faculty of Media and Communications, hall 10, fifth floor
Language of the workshop: English
