Sixth HFestival Announcement

The sixth HFestival will organize the Heartefact Fund from December 9 to 15, 2019, at several locations in Belgrade, and part of the program in Vršac.

This year, the Heartefact Fund team is especially dedicated to program units that aim to promote and educate young people, look at different angles in the fight for gender equality, as well as find the causes of inertia and motivation to share.

The sixth edition of the Festival, on December 9 at 7 pm, will open in the gallery space of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights with the exhibition “What will happen next?”, Which was created within the NEW platform as a result of cooperation between the Heartefact Fund and students under the mentorship of Professor Mrđan Bajić and Professor RadoÅ¡ Antonić.

The exhibition is a space for new artists who need to, in various techniques, from sculpture, through video works, to performances, talk about important social topics of the present. In addition, the Future Epics Symposium: From Local to European Heritage will open on the same day in the gallery space of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, during which attendees will be able to share their personal stories, which will be used to form narratives within the project.

The theatrical part of the HFestival program consists of guest performances of the new production Hotel KazaliÅ¡te Bulić, which will present the play “Kurlani” at the Bitef Theater on December 10 at 8 pm.

Putting the anthological trilogy of the writer Mirko BoÅŸić on life in Dalmatian Zagora on the stage, Senka Bulić points out the consequences that the ingrained non-dealing with human rights has on the present and on the inequality in which we live. The play stars: Senka Bulić, Frano MaÅ¡ković, Nadia Cvitanović, Jure Radnić, Anđela Ramljak and PaÅ¡ko Vukasović. During the HFestival, on December 13, at 8 pm, a new production of the Heartefact Fund “Uncle Vanya” will be performed, directed by Andrej Nosov and created in co-production with the National Theater Sterija from VrÅ¡ac.

The director puts on the stage a new “Uncle Vanya”, who seeks an answer to the question why we didn’t do something, and doesn’t condemn us for what we already have done. Entering the depths of human (non) action, enabled the author’s team to present to the audience a modern and fresh reading of Chekhov’s famous work.

The play stars: Nemanja Oliverić (Uncle Vanya), Branko Cvejić (Serebrayakov), Katarina Marković (Jelena Andreyevna), Mina Obradović (Sonya), Stefan Bundalo (Astrov), Monika Boldovina Bugle (Marina), Dojna Andrejević Petrović (Maria Vasilyevna) and Jovan Jelisavčić (Telegin). The play will be performed on the stage of the National Theater Sterija in VrÅ¡ac. The performance will be followed by the opening of the exhibition of photographs by RuÅŸica Milovanović, “Everyday life //” Uncle Vanja “. The photographs were taken during the work on the play and follow the whole process – from the rehearsals, through the research work (spending a few days on the estate in VrÅ¡ac), to the performance itself.

Sixth HFestival: Educational Programs

In the desire to constantly work and develop new generations of professionals, during the Festival, educational programs will be organized specifically for young people.

During December 10 and 11, the festival audience and the general professional public will be able to attend the Future Epics Symposium, “From Local to European Heritage”, during which lecturers Dragan Ristić Kal and Slavimir Stojanović Futro will talk about various aspects of local art and its impact. exchanges with the cultures of other European nations.

In addition, during the three days of the HF Festival, another in a series of NEW masterclasses will be organized, which is focused on musicians and composers. The mentor of the program is Vanessa Lan, a well-known composer, who will work with the participants to expand their knowledge in the field of composing for theater and performance, as well as to work on creating a personal performing style.

The results of the three-day workshop will be presented to a wider audience in the form of a showcase, during which the participants will hold a concert where they will perform a composition by Vanessa Lann, “Objects of Ritual”. The final presentation is scheduled for December 13 at 7 p.m.

An important part of this year’s festival will certainly be the direct participation of the younger population in the implementation of specific programs, which contributes to increasing visibility and promoting new generations of creators and socially responsible people.

On December 12, at 5 pm, as part of the Public project, the Heartefact Fund is organizing a live recording of the podcast “Frameinism”. Two interlocutors, Aleksa Nedić, bassist of the band Vizelj, and Boris Borojević, a philosophy student at the University of Belgrade, will comment on sensationalist headlines and pompous discriminatory articles that can be found in the yellow press. The audience will have the opportunity to hear a discussion on this topic which, at least at first glance, is not approached from the usual feminist point of view.

In addition, on December 14 from 12.00, the announcement of the winner of this year’s, eighth in a row Competition for the best contemporary engaged drama text will be organized, during which the winning drama will be directed and performed.

This year’s members of the jury are Nina Violić (president of the jury, prominent actress of the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb), Tanja Å ljivar (playwright) and Biljana Srbljanović (playwright and full professor at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade), who judged the plays during the selection process. from all parts of the country and the region.

The last day of the festival, December 15, will be marked by the closing of the festival and the exhibition “What will happen after”, which will be accompanied by a cocktail party for partners, friends and participants in this year’s edition of the HFestival.
