The fifth HFestival will be held from December 10th to 15th at several locations in Belgrade and Novi Sad.
Formerly known as the Festival of Tolerance, Heartefact HFestival promotes the work of young authors, engaged art, regional cooperation and the need for a responsible society by inviting the public to get acquainted and connect with various works in the field of visual and performing arts that marked the work of Hartefact and its partners in previous year.
The opening of the exhibition of photographs by Fadil Sharki “Roads of the Desperate”, on December 10, is also the opening of the HF Festival. The exhibition is an active testimony of an artist who traveled with groups of migrants to Hungary in the midst of the migrant crisis.
This year, the audience and guests of the festival will have the opportunity to see two performances.
The Hotel Bulić Theater from Zagreb will be a guest at the Bitef Theater on December 10 at 8 pm for the play “Nora”, directed by Senka Bulić. This play is an innovative reading of Ibsen’s classic, contextualized so as to re-examine contemporary issues related to real and illusory freedom of choice.
The second play that the visitors of the HF Festival will have the opportunity to see on December 11 at 8 pm in CZKD is “Finger” by Doruntina Basha (awarded at the Heartefact competition for the best contemporary engaged drama text in 2011) directed by Ana Tomović and produced by Heartefact. The play deals with the position of women in Kosovo whose husbands and sons disappeared during the war.
A special focus of this year’s festival is the big conference on performing arts within the NEW platform. The conference will be held on December 13 at the Yugoslav Cinematheque.
The Sarajevo Film Festival will present the program “Facing the Past”, within which four films from this year’s selection of the Sarajevo Festival will be shown.
Draško Adžić, one of the most prominent contemporary experts in applied music in the region, will hold a concert of theater music on December 15 at 8.30 pm in the atrium of the National Theater, which closes the fifth HFestival.
