Project description: The poetry performance titled “Poetry Knows” successfully combined poetry and stage expression, shaping it as a two-act theater play. Poets interpreted their verses as characters from everyday life – popular figures, representatives of institutionalized religion, tarot readers, and even politicians.
The tour brought together 12 young poets, including: Anđela Đokić, Jana Andrić, Nikola Mladenović, Petar Blagojević, Tamara Radević, Ana Radosavljević, Mirko Kekić, Nikodim Marjanović and Anđela Piljagić, led by the renowned and award-winning poets Radmila Petrović, Marija Dragnić and Aleksa Krstić.
The poetry performance “Poetry Knows” enabled poetry to be experienced as a collective act and sharing of common experience during a unique poetic journey. The tour began with a performance at the Šabac Cultural Center, then at the Student Cultural Center in Kragujevac, the City Library in Čačak, the Cultural Center in Požarevac, Lazarevac and Mionica, and the final performance was held at the Cultural Center of Belgrade.
In addition, an illustrated publication was prepared and distributed free of charge at all locations where the performances were performed, combining deeply emotional poems from the group performance with artistic illustrations and photographs of the poets.
In addition to the performance and the creation of the publication, an important segment of the project was the creation of a website dedicated to promoting the poets and their works, as well as the creation of social networks.
