My name is Vesna Milosavljević (58), and I am a representative of the organization Women’s Initiative from Trstenik. Through my many years of engagement, I have been dedicated to empowering women, especially those from rural areas, Roma women, and other marginalized groups, as well as to promoting gender equality, solidarity, and human rights. The organization Women’s Initiative implements a wide range of activities aimed at supporting women and vulnerable groups, including workshops on the use of ICT tools and the establishment of agricultural households, social entrepreneurship, support programs for single parents and older persons, and gerontology-focused programs. I firmly believe that these forms of community-based work are essential for creating a more just and humane society. I see my participation in the HRL Program as a valuable opportunity to further develop my knowledge and skills in public advocacy, leadership, and the protection of human rights. I am particularly motivated by the opportunity to contribute, through the exchange of experiences with other participants, to building a stronger network of activists working at the local level. I am confident that the knowledge and skills gained through the program will contribute not only to my personal development, but also to strengthening the capacities of our organization, enabling us to advocate more effectively for women’s rights, advance gender equality, and encourage greater participation of women in social and economic life.
