My name is Menka Kasić (56) from Brodarevo, Municipality of Prijepolje. I come from an entrepreneurial and hardworking family that taught me that effort, honesty, and responsibility are the foundations of all progress, values that have shaped my character and guided me throughout my life. By profession, I am a hairdresser, and for more than 30 years I have been dedicated to my craft and to working with people. Through daily encounters, I have had the opportunity to listen to a wide range of life stories, needs, and challenges, which further strengthened my connection to the community and motivated me to become more actively involved in its development. Driven by the desire to contribute to strengthening the position of women and improving the community, I became President of the women’s association “Brodarevo Ekspanzija” in 2013. Through the association, I work on empowering women, promoting their rights, and creating a space in which every woman can develop her potential and be equally included in social and economic life. I am applying for the HRL Program because this training is of great importance to me, and because I believe that the knowledge and skills gained will support my continued work and enable me to advocate even more effectively for the interests of women and the broader community in Brodarevo and the wider region.
