Lazar Petrović

I am Lazar Petrović (27). I graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Niš and I am currently a master’s student at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade. Throughout my career, I have pursued professional development through formal and informal education in at least ten European countries. I have received numerous international and domestic scholarships for my achievements, including scholarships from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Robert Schuman Institute, and the United Nations. I specialize in the field of human rights protection before the Constitutional Court of Serbia and the European Court of Human Rights. I have won various awards at national and international competitions in moot court and related legal fields. I gained professional experience through work and internships in the academic, corporate, and civil sectors. I previously worked as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Law in Niš, and I am currently a trainee lawyer at the Stanković & Partners Law Firm. I also serve as the president of the MAAT Student Association which is financially and structurally supported by the EU and UNDP Serbia to implement various projects dedicated to regional reconciliation and Serbia’s European integration. Within the framework of this program, I aim to implement a project that will educate youth on the importance of respecting human rights, and then train them to independently use national and international mechanisms and specific legal tools for human rights protection. I particularly wish to assist students and citizens involved in blockades, as their rights are currently most at risk.
