Anja Stamenković

My name is Anja Stamenković (26) from Prijedor, but I currently live and work in Niš. I practice psychotherapy through my private practice, where I work individually with clients. In addition, I am actively engaged in educating parents and developing mental health and workplace well-being programs for corporations. I have a background in social work and social policy, and I am also a Gestalt psychotherapist under supervision. My activism focuses on empowering families, supporting parents, and advocating for mental health as a fundamental human right. I am a member of the Apel association in Leskovac, which has been implementing projects for ten years to support families affected by violence, economic dependence, and social stigmatization. Through various initiatives, I have participated in training sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns on the importance of mental health and human rights. Through this program, I want to dedicate myself to the issue of domestic violence, with a particular focus on psychological violence and its long-term consequences. I consider this problem extremely important, as it is often invisible, and victims lack an adequate support system. My goal is to develop psychological and legal support programs, raise awareness of this issue, and empower individuals to recognize it and leave abusive relationships. I believe this is crucial for improving human rights and the overall well-being of the community.
