House
For over fifteen years, we have been shaping the independent cultural scene in Serbia and across the Western Balkans. We produce theatre and other artistic programmes, publish contemporary plays, and support artists in exploring new practices and underrepresented perspectives. We create space to reflect on different aspects of social, political, and economic reality.
Since 2022, we have also had a physical home – Heartefact House, an intimate theatre venue in the heart of Belgrade dedicated to contemporary socially engaged art. The House brings artists and audiences together around performances and programmes that use thoughtful dramaturgy, innovative directorial approaches, and powerful performances to explore questions that matter to the society we live in.
Our productions have been presented at major international festivals and theatre venues, from Sterijino Pozorje in Serbia, and the Triennale Milano to New York, reaching audiences locally, regionally, and globally.
To date, Heartefact House has produced over fifty artistic programmes, awarded numerous new plays selected from more than 1,200 submissions to our Competition for the Best Contemporary Drama, and participated in dozens of European cooperation projects with international partners.
We are open to co-productions, touring opportunities, festival invitations, joint projects, and new artistic encounters.
