Jelena Ćirić Nikolić

My name is Jelena Ćirić Nikolić (42). I am a PR and communications professional with more than ten years of experience in media, public, and digital communications. I live and work in Belgrade. I hold both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Journalism from the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade. Throughout my professional career, I have focused on issues related to families, children, and mothers, with a clear aim to contribute to the improvement of public policies through information, public discourse, and advocacy. I worked at the Bebac.com platform for six years, including two years as Editor-in-Chief, where I initiated and edited content focused on violence prevention, maternal health, child safety, and strengthening parenting capacities. Through articles, analyses, and public appeals, I consistently highlighted gaps in existing legal frameworks and the need for systemic change. I currently work as a Brand, Communications, and Public Relations Associate at SOS Children’s Villages Serbia, with a focus on prevention programmes and support for families at risk. Through strategic communications and public advocacy, I address issues of strengthening parental capacities, early intervention, and preventing the separation of children from their families, while ensuring a responsible and ethical approach to communicating sensitive social issues. As part of my ongoing professional development, I am increasingly engaged in advancing gender equality in the labour market and addressing discrimination against women, particularly in the context of returning to work after maternity leave, linking these issues with existing social and family policies.
