Nehat Ahmedi

My name is Nehat Ahmedi (23) from Preševo. I completed my primary and secondary education in Preševo, and I am currently studying law at AAB College in Pristina. Alongside my studies, I am actively involved in audiovisual production and organizing cultural events. For the past five years, I have been engaged in filming short documentary films that address the themes of tradition, culture, and history of the Preševo Valley. Through my work, I strive to document and preserve key elements of cultural identity, while drawing attention to important social issues. Additionally, since 2018, I have been a coordinator at the organization PreArt, which promotes art, film, and photography through cultural and educational programs. One of the key projects I initiated is Kino On Tour – the first mobile cinema initiative in the Balkans, which brings films to rural areas and provides access to art for communities without cultural infrastructure. This project not only brings culture closer to people but also raises awareness of important social issues, including human rights. Through this program, I wish to address minority rights issues through art and visual media. I believe that culture and film can be powerful tools for raising awareness of rights that are often neglected. Participating in this program would provide me with new knowledge and tools to further promote human rights in the Preševo Valley and beyond.
