My name is Hristina Cvetinčanin Knežević (35). I am a researcher, journalist, and educator with 15 years of experience in the fields of feminism, media studies, and digital rights. My work experience includes collaboration with numerous NGOs, research centers, media outlets, and academic institutions on projects dedicated to human rights, gender equality, and critical media analysis. I hold a degree in Sociology from the Faculty of Philosophy, a master’s degree in Political Science – Gender Studies from the Faculty of Political Sciences, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Culture and Media. As a researcher and journalist, I focus on analyzing media representations of women, digital feminist activism, and researching gender-based violence in digital environments. I am the author of numerous scientific and applied research papers and publications in this field, and my expertise also includes developing methodologies for feminist and media literacy. I am the founder and editor of the social media account Feminizam iz teretane, through which I connect feminist theory with digital activism, address topics of women’s mental and physical health, and promote critical thinking about social and gender norms. For this work, I was awarded the Hrabri iskoraci recognition by the Jelena Šantić Foundation. In a world where right-wing politics are increasingly strengthening and institutionalizing, the space for human rights, particularly the rights of women and LGBTIQ+ individuals, is shrinking. Digital technologies have already become tools for those who want to silence progressive voices, and that is why I believe it is time to start using them as a space of resistance. Therefore, I want to build a digital feminist and LGBTIQ+ community, united around feminist values, with the aim of informing, advocating, and building the capacity of individuals, and I believe that this program can help me in this effort.
