Project description: <\/strong>As part of the support, a bilingual interactive theater piece was created in Serbian and Hungarian, performed in front of high school students in Subotica. This project responded to data collected during initial workshops and focus groups about the needs of youth in the city. At the beginning of the project, ten workshops in Serbian and four workshops in Hungarian were held in high schools, followed by additional focus groups in both languages at the premises of the Klara and Rosa Association. During the workshops, documentary material was gathered, reflecting the needs, attitudes, and problems of high school students. This material served as the foundation for the creative team to conceptualize how to translate these issues into a theatrical format. They were assisted by a two-day workshop on the Theater in Education method, led by theater pedagogue and actor Adam Betlenfalvi. The workshop included participants from various professions (professional and amateur actors, dramaturges, educators, and students) and also served as a casting opportunity for the performance team. The final play was designed to be experienced by a small audience of ten people simultaneously (five from the Serbian-Croatian class and five from the Hungarian class), providing a safe space for dialogue with Subotica\u2019s youth on these specific topics. The project is significant for the local community and the Klara and Rosa Association because it facilitated the connection between youth from different national communities, offering them new experiences and fostering critical thinking. Through engagement with young people, a constructive dialogue on important societal issues was initiated, leading to valuable insights into the challenges facing youth in Subotica. The findings include that young Subotica residents who speak different languages rarely meet, and this isolation is not perceived as an issue; the books they read for school are not connected to their personal lives or the current moment; they are afraid to freely express their opinions; they are used to attending theater in an organized manner, watching a play in the dark, without being asked for feedback; they are hesitant to sign up for something unfamiliar; religion and church attendance are significant in their lives; few of them speak both languages fluently. Each new performance presents a challenge for the facilitators (actors), as every group brings different beliefs, barriers, and attitudes. Despite personal disagreements, the facilitators must listen and initiate dialogue, encouraging listening and the acceptance of differing perspectives. This process creates a platform for the future generation of changemakers to practice critical thinking, listening, discussing, and debating.<\/p><\/p>\n\n
