Project description<\/strong>: The key activities supported by this project include film criticism workshops for high school students in Po\u017eega, Ni\u0161, Kragujevac, Zrenjanin, and Subotica, as well as the promotion of the book Filmoskopija: Selected Texts on Contemporary Serbian Cinema 2010\u20132023<\/em>. During the workshops, moderators worked with participants on the basics of film criticism and critical thinking through auteur films. The night before the workshops, screenings of the film Teret<\/em> by Ognjen Glavoni\u0107 were organized, serving as the subject of discussion in the workshops. These screenings were open to the public as well as the workshop participants, and after the screenings, a discussion was held about the film and the critical reflection on the important topic it addresses. As part of the project, the book Filmoskopija: Selected Texts on Contemporary Serbian Cinema 2010\u20132023<\/em>, which includes 32 critical texts on contemporary Serbian cinema, was edited and published. The book was presented in all five cities in Serbia and promoted in Belgrade at the Auteur Film Festival at Hartefakt House. Published in a print run of 350 copies, the book critically examines films created over the past thirteen years, with an emphasis on documentary films, both feature-length and short, as well as student films. One of the novelties the collection brings is a greater focus on various film genres, particularly short films, which have been unjustly neglected in film criticism. Furthermore, the collection also discusses works by younger-generation filmmakers, whose films have received far less academic and scholarly attention, as well as the works of student filmmakers in the final years of art faculties, who will shape contemporary domestic cinema in the next decade. In addition, libraries across Serbia are being supplied with the book to ensure that interested readers throughout the country have access to it. As part of the project, 20 high school students were given the opportunity to learn the basics of writing film criticism and critical thinking within the context of film art. Meanwhile, around 100 people from the local community were able to watch Teret<\/em> and participate in discussions with the workshop moderators and critics of Filmoskopija<\/em> on the topics the film raises\u2014unresolved war crimes committed during the Kosovo War in 1999, the marginalization of various groups, the revisionist approach to history prevalent in Serbian society, which creates confusion among young people and prevents them from accessing the history of their own country in an objective and truthful manner, etc. Despite the challenges posed by school closures, the workshops were successfully conducted, and students were able to maintain further contact with the workshop moderators and the Filmoskopija<\/em>editorial team on any future topics of interest, as well as opportunities for further development that are hindered by the centralized system in the country.<\/p><\/p>\n\n
