Heartefact House officially opened in June 2022 with the premiere of Our Son. After more than ten years of staging productions in various theatres and venues, Heartefact’s performances finally found a permanent home on their own chamber stage in an apartment at 7 Bulevar despota Stefana.

Since then, we have premiered ten productions: Our Son, directed by Patrik Lazić; A Brief History of Burgers and Other Stories, directed by Andrej Nosov; Would Be a Shame for the Plants to Die, directed by Ivor Martinić; Before We Begin, an authorial project by director Jug Đorđević and dramaturg Tijana Grumić; Climax, directed by Patrik Lazić; How I Learned to Drive, directed by Tara Manić; All the Good Barbies, directed by Đorđe Nešović; They Are All Gone, directed by Andrej Nosov; Art and Money, directed by Freja Halberg; and Quite from Two to Six, directed by Tara Mitrović. We also revived The Finger, directed by Ana Tomović.

More than 20,000 audience members have attended over 300 performances at Heartefact House, and we have collaborated with more than 200 artists. In addition to theatre productions, Heartefact House has hosted more than 50 workshops and international gatherings, establishing our venue as a recognized space not only for socially engaged theatre, but also for learning, exchange, and community building.

“A close-up that lasts for an hour and a half” is how our actors describe the experience of performing at Heartefact House. Our audiences, in turn, often speak of the unique sense of intimacy and togetherness that comes from sharing a theatrical experience in a living room with some sixty other people. We are proud that our productions feature some of the most distinguished names in Serbian theatre, including Mirjana Karanović, Jasna Đuričić, Anita Mančić, Svetozar Cvetković, and Dragana Varagić, alongside a younger generation of actors such as Iva Milanović, Amar Ćorović, Marta Bogosavljević, and many others.

Thank you to all the artists and collaborators who have been part of this journey, and especially to our audience, with whom we have built the successful story of Heartefact House in just four years.

See you at the House!
