{"id":23594,"date":"2025-10-15T10:51:32","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T10:51:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/heartefact.org\/young-people-from-serbia-explore-belgrade-novi-sad-and-novi-pazar-through-the-regional-vibe-program\/"},"modified":"2025-10-15T11:05:26","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T11:05:26","slug":"young-people-from-serbia-explore-belgrade-novi-sad-and-novi-pazar-through-the-regional-vibe-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/heartefact.org\/en\/young-people-from-serbia-explore-belgrade-novi-sad-and-novi-pazar-through-the-regional-vibe-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Young People from Serbia Explore Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Novi Pazar through the Regional VIBE Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From <strong>October 9 to 11<\/strong>, 2025, Heartefact organized a three-day program dedicated to young people from Serbia as part of the regional initiative <strong>VIBE \u2013 Connecting Young People.<\/strong> The journey included visits to <strong>Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Novi Pazar<\/strong>, with the aim of helping young participants explore different parts of the country \u2014 their cultural heritage, social and political context \u2014 and to foster mutual understanding and connection through encounters with organizations, activists, and institutions.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the three-day visit, participants engaged in interactive tours, discussions, and meetings with actors from the fields of culture and civil society, allowing them to explore topics such as the <strong>culture of remembrance, social responsibility, activism, and human rights more deeply.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program began in <strong>Belgrade<\/strong>, where participants visited <strong>monuments dedicated to the wars of the 1990s<\/strong> and, through a guided tour, discussed how the past is interpreted and remembered in contemporary society. This was followed by a visit to the <em><strong>Museum of Yugoslavia<\/strong><\/em>, where young people explored historical layers and narratives that shape the identity of the region through expert guidance. The day concluded with a joint dinner and open discussion on human rights and the role of youth in today\u2019s society, led by <strong>Matija Stefanovi\u0107<\/strong> from the organization <em><strong>Da se zna!<\/strong><\/em> and the Heartefact team.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the second day, the group traveled to <strong>Novi Sad<\/strong>, where they continued exploring topics of activism, media, and youth engagement. A visit to the <strong>social center <em>Iza\u0111i<\/em><\/strong> gave participants the opportunity to learn about the work of one of the most important organizations supporting the LGBTIQ+ community and promoting equality and tolerance. After a shared lunch with members of the organization, the group visited the <em><strong>Independent Journalists\u2019 Association of Vojvodina<\/strong><\/em> (NDNV), where they were welcomed by journalist and professor <strong>Dinko Gruhonji\u0107.<\/strong> In an open conversation, participants discussed the role of independent media, freedom of expression, and the challenges journalists face in Serbia and the region.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The third day took place in <strong>Novi Pazar<\/strong>, a city whose cultural, historical, and social context offered participants new experiences and perspectives. The young participants visited the <em><strong>Youth Office<\/strong><\/em>, took part in a guided cultural and historical tour of the city, and met with <strong>Ahmedin \u0160krelja<\/strong>, a Member of Parliament, to discuss the challenges and priorities of young people in multiethnic communities. During their stay, participants learned about different aspects of local culture and social life, as well as examples of successful initiatives that foster dialogue and cooperation.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This part of the program contributed to the development of mutual understanding, empathy, and collaboration among young people from different backgrounds, encouraging them to build their own ideas about activism and social engagement through shared experiences and dialogue.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The \u201c<strong>Vibe \u2013 Connecting Young People\u201d<\/strong> project is implemented by <strong>Juventas (Montenegro)<\/strong> in partnership with <\/em><strong>Arsis (Albania)<\/strong><em> and <strong>Heartefact (Serbia)<\/strong>, with financial support from the <strong>BOOST program<\/strong>, led by the <strong>European Association for Local Democracy \u2013 ALDA<\/strong> and the <strong>French Development Agency (Agence Fran\u00e7aise de D\u00e9veloppement).<\/strong> The project aims to strengthen regional cooperation among youth from Serbia, Montenegro, and Albania by promoting cultural diversity, European values, and mutual understanding through exchanges, educational, and cultural activities.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1
