From 4 to 6 September 2025<\/strong>, the final networking event of the Voices from the margins<\/strong><\/em> project took place in Belgrade. During the three-day visit to Belgrade, the programme participants\u2014young activists from all over Serbia\u2014had the opportunity to tour several relevant non-governmental organizations, meet other activists including Matija Stefanovi\u0107 (from Da se zna!), Lenka Rabasovi\u0107 (from the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia), and Tijana \u0110ukni\u0107 (from the Youth Initiative for Human Rights), as well as attend various theatre performances and cultural events.<\/p>\n\n

The participants also attended the ceremonial opening of the photo exhibition There\u2019s Room for Everyone in the foyer of Heartefact House, co-created by the photographer Anja Ivanovi\u0107 and graphic designer Jelena Milojevi\u0107, together with models who are also co-authors, who are programme participants of Voices from the margins<\/em>. Later that evening they saw the play All Good Barbies<\/em>, based on the novel by Katarina Mitrovi\u0107, at Heartefact House. The photographs depict various marginalized communities in Serbia, staged in an elevator scene, accompanied by the personal testimonies of participants in Voices from the margins<\/em>, which point out that diversity must not be a reason for exclusion, but an opportunity for solidarity.<\/p>\n\n

The next day, the participants visited the Belgrade Open School<\/em>, where they were welcomed by the Executive Director Vladimir Pavlovi\u0107; and the Trag Foundation<\/em>, hosted by Ivana Markovi\u0107 and Milica \u0110or\u0111evi\u0107. They also visited the Centre for Queer Studies<\/em> and the RYCO<\/em> office in Belgrade, as well as the House of Human Rights<\/em>, where Sonja Biserko received them. As part of Pride Week, the participants had the opportunity to see the performance Glatka<\/em> by Eva Vo\u0161tini\u0107 at Heartefact House, which addresses the position of marginalized communities in Serbia, with a particular focus on trans women.\u00a0On the last day of their visit to Belgrade, the participants visited the exhibition Labyrinth of the Nineties<\/em>, with expert guidance by Ivana An\u0111elkovi\u0107, at the Museum of the Nineties<\/em>, and later took part in the Pride Walk.<\/p>\n\n

The exhibition is implemented with the support of the regional project SMART Balkans \u2013 Civil Society for a Connected Western Balkans, implemented by the Center for Civil Society Promotion (CPCD), Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM), and the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM), and financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway.<\/em><\/p>\n\n
