I am Aleksandra \u0110urovi\u0107 (55) from \u010ca\u010dak. I am a geriatric caregiver with over 15 years of experience in both individual and institutional elderly care. I have specialized in working with people with dementia, providing them with support at all stages of the disease and all levels of mobility. Through my years of work, I became aware of challenges people with dementia and their families face\u2014stigma, lack of information, and insufficient support. This is why I founded the \u010ca\u010dak Association for People with Dementia \u2013 \u010c.U.D.O., which focuses on raising awareness about dementia, educating both formal and informal caregivers, and advocating for systemic changes in the approach to care and the rights of people with dementia. One of the key goals of my activism is the fight against violence toward people with dementia. I believe it is crucial for society to recognize the specific challenges these individuals face and to develop mechanisms for their protection. Through projects and educational initiatives, I work on spreading knowledge on this topic, connecting professionals and caregivers, and advocating for better policies in the fields of social and healthcare protection.
