Sadie Suhodolli, also known as Tadi, is a multi-disciplinary artist and social activist from Mitrovica who holds a degree in Painting from the Fine Arts University in Pristina. She is a co-founder of Bijat, a feminist\/queer collective from Pristina. She\u2019s also a co-founder of Pristine is burning, a queer\/drag club night in Prishtina. Since founding the Bijat collective, Tadi has been actively engaged in various activist and social initiatives, with a primary focus on promoting gender equality in the music and art scene while fostering connections between cultural actors in Kosovo and Serbia. As part of the Reset Network for Independent Culture, she has organized workshops and spoken on numerous panels in Budapest, Brussels, Prishtina, and Belgrade. Tadi aims to explore the linguistic transition experienced by Albanian youth in Kosovo who entered the educational system in the late 1990s or after the war. Her focus lies on translation practices and the void that emerged following the shift away from the Serbian language. This research sought to assess the potential for reconciliation between languages and the creation of new translations of pivotal texts regarding the Kosovo crisis, conflict, human rights, and transitional justice, authored by prominent intellectuals in both Serbo-Croatian and Albanian. The International Festival Polip, organized by Qendra Multimedia from Prishtina and LINKS from Belgrade, serves as a significant cultural platform for addressing linguistic, literary, and translational discourse. Tadi’s project focused on the festival’s archives and its efforts to bridge the literary and translational gap. She interviewed festival organizers Jeton Neziraj and Sa\u0161a Ili\u0107, along with other connected translators. Her research also delved into publishing houses, particularly Rilindja, and its profound significance for Albanian culture within the former Yugoslavia and beyond Kosovo’s borders during the Yugoslav period.<\/p>\n\n
