I live in Kragujevac, where I completed secondary school for mechanical engineering. By nationality, I am Roma. Since 2003, I have been actively involved in addressing the issues of the Roma community. My first professional engagement in this matter was through the Roma Information Center (Serbian: Romski informativni centar), where I worked on public advocacy within a project supported by Care International. Since 2008, I have been engaged by the Ministry of Health as a health mediator, connecting the Roma population with health centers and other institutions. Through my years of work, I have gained the trust of the Roma community and managed to integrate Roma individuals into the healthcare system, increasing awareness of the importance of preventive check-ups and health preservation. In 2014, I founded the Serbian-Roma association Integrative Global Center (Serbian: Inegrativni Global Centar). We are a member of the Roma Women&#8217;s Network and the United Roma Women against Violence network. The association has undertaken projects related to women&#8217;s and youth reproductive health, prevention of underage marriages and violence against women and children, and discrimination among schoolchildren. Currently, we are implementing the project Prevention for a Better and Higher Quality Life, supported by the Programme Enhancing Good Governance and Social Inclusion for Municipal Development \u2013 Swiss PRO program. Through Heartefact\u2019s project, I aim to focus on preventing human rights violations as I encounter daily discrimination against those who are different, including the Roma community, people with disabilities, single mothers, and rural women. Gender equality is my priority because women experience the greatest discrimination, especially Roma women.
